The Graduate Market in 2026 Report provides an overview of the graduate employment landscape, including the top universities for employability. This year Queen Mary has moved up to 16th position, its highest ranking since entering the top 20 in 2020.
Speaking on the report, President and Principal of Queen Mary, Professor Colin Bailey CBE, said: “At Queen Mary, we are committed to opening the doors of opportunity to every student with the potential to succeed, and to providing them with a world-class education. In doing so, our graduates leave university with talent, determination, adaptability and more, and go on to succeed in their chosen careers.
“That’s why I am so proud that we have been ranked 16th in the Higher Fliers Graduate Market in 2026 Report, our highest position yet. And I am even more proud that we have achieved this whilst remaining true to our roots of being a top University for social mobility and inclusion.”
Ensuring students are supported to succeed in their chosen careers is a key objective of the University’s Strategy 2030. Careers support at Queen Mary is wide and varied and includes a personalised careers service which can be accessed for up to three years after graduation. The University also provides placements and internships, employer visits, volunteering and community engagement opportunities, as well as support with student entrepreneurship through an incubator and a student enterprise award.
This success builds on others. Last year, the University Compare UK University Employability rankings, based on a range of factors including how well students were supported into employment, put Queen Mary 11th. And the Daily Mail placed Queen Mary 12th in the UK for graduate earnings.
