Since 2018, ANII and Queen Mary have formally partnered to fund Uruguayan Master's and Doctoral students to study at Queen Mary.
Prospective scholars have to first apply to Queen Mary for their chosen programme. Following acceptance, they can then apply to ANII for a scholarship.

Proposals may be submitted in strategic areas that contribute to development, improvement, resolution or the utilisation of the following sectors/problems/opportunities (a), or to the following prioritised technological areas (b), as defined in the National Strategic Plan for Science, Technology and Innovation (PENCTI).
