Make your mark on the business world by combining management skills with legal knowledge.
See yourself working in management? But also have an interest in law? Join us to explore how law functions in the modern business world. These two areas are constantly evolving meaning it’s always a great combination of subjects to study.
London is a business hub and a centre for legal expertise and innovation. We also partner with multinational companies to bring you the latest industry insights. In the past, we’ve worked with Microsoft, PwC and Facebook.
You’ll study modules from the School of Business and Management and the School of Law. We’ve designed the course to include cutting-edge business topics like managing diversity, social network analysis and social responsibility. At the same time, you’ll look at legal areas like intellectual property and contract law.
Make your mark
We’re making a real difference to society, nationally and globally. Our recent research has increased gender and ethnic diversity on UK corporate boards. Many of our academics have worked in industry prior to academia too, so they’ll share their experience with you.

Teaching
Teaching and learning
Teaching and research are based on three pillars: governance; social justice and sustainability; as well as the UN Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME).
You'll receive approximately two hours of weekly contact time per module, comprising lectures led by academic staff and smaller seminar groups.
For every hour spent in class, you’ll complete a further two to three hours of independent study. You'll have access to well-designed resources for this self-directed study, and we will pair you with an academic advisor to support your progress at all stages of your degree.
Assessment
Assessment typically includes a combination of coursework (presentations, assignments, essay report writing, in-class tests, research and project work) and/or examinations in May or June.
Resources and facilities
The School of Business and Management will be welcoming a new six-storey, state-of-the-art business school building in 2027 – an investment of £48.8m located along the canal near Mile End Station with:
- inclusive, innovative, and high-impact learning spaces
- media suite designed to support student entrepreneurship
- flexible study zones, quite area and collaboration hubs
- landscaped terraces and green spaces
The School’s Careers and Employability team offers help with work experience opportunities and applications, mentorships, and consultancy project support.
Academic Advising – Your programme director and module organisers support you with academic progress, module choices, assessments, and study or career planning, office hours, while academics who’ve taught you can provide references.
Pastoral Advising - Your personal/pastoral advisor supports you with wellbeing, extenuating circumstances, study interruptions, and administrative issues, connecting you with specialist services and offering 1:1 support in person or online, can provide non-academic references.
Academic Writing Support Tutor - The School offers academic writing support, including 12 workshops on essay and report writing, and optional workshops, recordings, and one-to-one tutorials are available.
Quantitative Support Tutor - The School offers quantitative skills support for students. Weekly workshops and one-to-one sessions cover key topics such as statistics, regression, and data analysis.

| IB | International Baccalaureate Diploma with a minimum of 36 points overall, including 6,6,6 from three Higher Level subjects. This must include a minimum of 4 in Standard Level Mathematics. |

| Access HE | We consider applications from students with the Access to Higher Education Diploma. The minimum academic requirement is to achieve 60 credits overall, with 45 credits at Level 3, of which 30 credits must be at Distinction and 15 credits at Merit or higher. Applications are considered on a case by case basis. Due to the high volume of applications, we do not make offers of study purely on the basis of meeting grade requirements. |

Funding
Loans and grants
UK students accepted onto this course are eligible to apply for tuition fee and maintenance loans from Student Finance England or other government bodies.
Scholarships and bursaries
Queen Mary offers a generous package of scholarships and bursaries, which currently benefits around 50 per cent of our undergraduates.
Scholarships are available for home, EU and international students. Specific funding is also available for students from the local area. International students may be eligible for a fee reduction. We offer means-tested funding, as well as subject-specific funding for many degrees.
