Scholarships and funding

We are committed to supporting talented and ambitious students. The following scholarships and funding opportunities are available to applicants to SEF’s MSc programmes. 

Global scholarships

There are around 200 scholarships of £5,000-£7,000 for SEF applicants with overseas fee status and an overall mark of 55 or above (or the international equivalent). After you have received an offer for an MSc at SEF, a scholarship application link will be emailed to eligible candidates.1

More scholarships and awards 

Women in Economics and Finance Scholarship

£6,000 scholarship for international women holding a 2.1 honours degree (or overseas equivalent). Eligible applicants are automatically considered.

MSc Economics Scholarship

Covers from £2,000 to full tuition fees for applicants for the MSc Economics. Eligible applicants are automatically considered.

SEF Progression Scholarship

For Home (UK) QMUL graduates, covers the difference between the MSc fees and the UK Master’s Loan. Eligible applicants are automatically considered.

Queen Mary Alumni Loyalty Award

10% discount for all QMUL alumni, except those receiving a full scholarship. The discount will be applied automatically.

[1] There are three global scholarships—the Global Financial Leaders Scholarship (GFL), the Global Talent Scholarship (GTS), and the Global Excellence Scholarship (GES). By submitting a single application, you will be considered for one of these scholarships. Applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible after receiving their offer, as scholarships are awarded on a rolling basis.
