“London is my favourite city. It forces you to step out of your comfort zone, which is really important, but Queen Mary has your back. The transition to studying in a new country was overwhelming, but Queen Mary understands that international students need support. There are peer assistance programmes, mentorship programmes, regular guidance from your advisor, and opportunities to engage with the wider community.
As you can guess from my choice of programme, I’m an analytical guy, and I knew Queen Mary would be different from doing my research. The employment rates, the student satisfaction rates, being a Russell Group university – it was easily the best option.
I’ve become good friends with students from India, China, Italy, and the UK. We all work together as a community, we all help each other, and we all get along.
“Of course there are still things I worry about. But Queen Mary’s uniqueness comes from valuing each and every student. I’ve learned a lot from having to adapt, I can stretch five pounds better than a magician and thanks to Queen Mary, I’ve shaped myself into a better person. I’m very grateful to this place.”
