Key features of the redevelopment include:
- A new building meeting the latest sustainability criteria and the expectations of Tower Hamlets Council, and preparing the University for the future
- Improved education and research facilities for Queen Mary students – building on our existing world-class offer
- A new, more publicly-accessible, home for the University’s free citizens’ legal advice centre serving members of the public, students and staff
- Enhancement of the canal walkway, improving accessibility to the canal side
- Improvements to the landscaping of Lock Keeper’s Cottage, which will also provide living labs for students and research
- A new café at Lock Keeper's Cottage, open to the local community
